Easter bells
Milk chocolate bell, filled with calamandes and olivettes du Roy.
Discover this year the bells of the artisans of the Roy, which pay tribute to the bells that adorned the bell tower of the church of Saint-Jean-de-Malte.
These and many other bells in Provence had been requisitioned by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1793 to be melted to participate in the construction of weapons. Two centuries later, the Calissonniers d'Aix decided to offer one of the bells reinstalled in the belfry of the church. Its 780 kilograms ring an F sharp and, above the Camargue cross, is inscribed: Since 2013, under the pontificate of François, I, Jeanne the "Calissanne", offered by the Calissonniers of Aix and the Fondation du Roy René, I sing the tasty wisdom of God.
